Open Beech in its own desktop window from Chrome, Edge, or Safari, plus iPhone and iPad add-to-home-screen steps.
Intent: Explain install beech on your computer in a way that a new team member can follow without prior Beech context.
Who this helps: Architecture studio admins, managers, and contributors who need a repeatable operational workflow.
Expected outcome: Beech opens in its own app window and appears in your Dock/taskbar like a desktop app.
Beech runs in the browser, and you can also install it as an app so it opens in its own window with a Dock/taskbar icon. This is ideal for teams that keep Beech open all day.
Chrome or Edge on desktop
- 1Open Beech and sign in
Use
https://beech.workand land on Home, Projects, Workspace, or Schedule. - 2Install from Beech
Open your user menu in the top-right and click Install app. Chrome/Edge may also show an install icon in the address bar.
- 3Confirm install
Accept the browser prompt. Beech opens in its own window and appears in your Dock/taskbar and app launcher.
Safari on Mac
Safari does not show the same install prompt as Chrome/Edge. In Safari, open File -> Add to Dock while on Beech. macOS creates an app entry that launches Beech in a standalone window.
iPhone and iPad
In Safari, open Beech, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. This creates an icon and launches Beech in app-style full-screen mode.
What install changes (and what it does not)
- Install gives Beech its own window, Dock/taskbar icon, and app launcher entry.
- Beech still needs internet for live studio data, uploads, and sync.
- Notifications work best when browser notifications are enabled in My profile -> Notifications.
For IT admins
Managed Chrome and Edge deployments can force-install Beech for every user through WebAppInstallForceList with URL https://beech.work/home and launch container window.
Prerequisites
- Beech loads in your browser and you can sign in at
https://beech.work. - You have a current browser version (Chrome, Edge, or Safari).
- For Safari Add to Dock, you are on macOS Sonoma or newer.
Expected outcome
Beech opens in its own app window and appears in your Dock/taskbar like a desktop app.
Common mistakes and prevention
Mistake 1: Trying in Firefox desktop, which does not provide install for web apps.
Mistake 2: Looking for the install option before logging in to Beech's dashboard pages.
Mistake 3: Expecting offline access to live firm data after install.
