Project Records
Studio
Last updated: 8 Sep 2026
The Studio tab is the creative reference space for a project — canvases, Jot documents, and inspiration links. It is not for tasks or operational records, and it is not the place for firm file storage. Project files live in Vault.
Studio sections
The Studio tab has three sections:
Canvases
A collection of freeform visual canvases — like digital studio walls where you can arrange images, add text notes, and create color swatches. Each canvas has a name and creation date. Create as many canvases as needed (Concept Direction, Material Study, Site Analysis, etc.).
Click a canvas card to open it full-screen. The canvas toolbar includes: Select, Image upload, Text, Color swatch, and Sketch (freehand drawing). Color swatches show the hex code and an editable label.
Canvases save when you click the Save button — they do not auto-save. An "Unsaved changes" indicator appears after any change. Download a canvas as a PNG image using the download button on the canvas card.
Jot
Named documents for design thinking and practice knowledge — concept notes, material schedules, client briefs, drawing issue notes. Jot is not for meeting minutes or site visit records; those live in Log. Each jot has an inline title, optional emoji and cover, and a wide document editor with headings, tables, checklists, @mentions, live work-item references, and embeds of Vault files.
New jot opens straight into the editor. Empty documents offer template chips (Design concept, Site and context, Material and finish, Client brief) and an All templates gallery. Jots auto-save while you work. Download any jot as a plain text file.
Inspiration Links
A curated list of URLs — architecture references, ArchDaily articles, Houzz images, or any external inspiration. Each link has a title, URL, and optional tag. Click the title to open the link in a new tab.
