Planning

On this page
People is the studio staffing board for Managers and Admins. It shows who is over-allocated, unallocated, or on leave, and lets you adjust project bandwidth without touching rupee costing.
Where People lives
Open More → People (/people). Contributors are redirected to My Hours. Invites, deactivation, and CTC rates stay in Firm settings — People is for planning who is on which job this week.
Overview
Overview answers “is the studio overloaded this week?” It shows:
- Who is over-allocated, unallocated, or on leave
- Risk hotspot days where the firm carries the most pressure
- An action queue of operational next steps, with a jump into Workload for that team
Approvals
Approvals is where Managers and Admins clear pending leave, weekly hours, and overtime. Filter chips show counts; Approve and Reject act inline. Leave rows are limited to people you can review (Admins: everyone; Managers: direct reports). Hours and overtime are firm-wide. Leave-submit notifications deep-link here.
Workload
Workload (labelled Capacity in some older copy) is the person × week bandwidth board. Click a person to open their allocation drawer and set project percentages and date ranges. Keep each person’s planned bandwidth across all projects at or under 100%. Over-allocation shows a warning here and on the manager Financials chip.
Roster
Roster lists everyone with planned % and links back into Workload. Use it as a directory of planned staffing, not as a timesheet.
Reported Team Hours
This section is the firm-wide hours view: a weekly summary table (person × day) plus hours per person per project. Click a name to open their My Hours view. Logged hours here are what happened; Workload is what you planned. Hours logged in My Hours drive project cost. Planned % is only for staffing.
Bandwidth vs costing
Bandwidth on People is for capacity planning only. It does not split day hours for rupee costing. Job cost still uses My Hours project-row cells × hourly rate from monthly CTC. Leave and Holiday rows are not costed to projects. See Time logging and Finance.
Before you start
- You are a Manager or Admin. Contributors are redirected from People to My Hours.
- Team members exist in Firm settings and are assigned to projects so bandwidth and hours have somewhere to land.
Workflow checks and quality guardrails
Checklist item 1: Start on Overview for this week’s over-allocated, unallocated, and leave picture, then open Workload to adjust a person.
Checklist item 2: Keep each person’s planned bandwidth at or under 100%. Costing still uses My Hours project rows, not this board.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating People bandwidth as rupee costing — job cost still comes from My Hours project cells.
- Inviting or deactivating people from People. Seats, invites, and CTC stay in Firm settings.
Troubleshooting
- 1Troubleshooting step 1
If People is missing from More, you are a Contributor — use My Hours, or ask a Manager to change your role.
- 2Troubleshooting step 2
If allocations look empty, confirm the person is on the project team and the date range covers the week you are viewing.
